Admission arrangements

Our school is a co-educational County Primary School for children aged 4-11 years. We admit children into 2 Reception classes which offer 60 places. We also offer 60 places in each of Years 1 to 6. We have a Nursery offering 30 places in the morning and 30 places in the afternoon for children aged 3 - 4 years.

In agreement with the Governing Body and the Local Education Authority, the number of children to be admitted into school is based on the school's capacity in its initial allocation area. Parents are requested to complete and return an application form, obtainable from the school of their choice. Children in Sandwell are admitted to school at the beginning of the academic year in which they are 5 years old, provided there are places available.

Places for classes will be allocated on the priority order given below:

  1. Children undergoing assessment under Sections 321 and 323 of the Education Act 1996.
  2. To meet the child's medical needs (recommended and supported by a doctor's certificate) regardless of distance from home to school.

a) For admissions to Primary and Secondary Schools (Year 7) having a brother or sister at the school at the same time regardless of distance from home to school.

b) For admissions to Infant Schools having a brother or sister at the school or at a Junior School on the same site or nearby at the same time regardless of distance from home to school.

c) For admissions to Junior Schools having a brother or sister at the school or at an Infant School on the same site or nearby at the same time regardless of distance from home to school.

  1. Denominational grounds, supported by the Church, regardless of distance from home to school. Distance measured in a straight line from a child's home to the nearest available entrance to the school.
